Okay, let’s move on to this week’s topic. As a teacher at Shimonoseki City University (Shidai) I’m of course very interested to know how Shidai students feel about their university. When I was a university student there were many things that I loved about my university. But, there were also many things that I wished were different. So, for this week’s homework, I want you to write about the following two things:
1. What is something that you like about Shidai?
2. What is something about Shidai that you wish were different?

I like a lot of things about shidai.
One is having a lot of subjects in a college.For example,Shidai is economy faculty but has Japanese history,English,human rights and geography. It is better than other colleges.
Another thing is how to teach of teacher. Teacher is very kind and very good at teaching.
I have a lot of dislike things. For example,selection of stand,decrepit building and facility. Especially,I want to improve decrepit building. Because it is very inconvenient for us to live in college and it is very dangerous when disaster like earthquake comes. If building is old,our life is dangerous. I do not hope it. So I want improve it. If these points impove,shidai is more comfortable. I expect to develop a lot of points in the future.

返信削除One thing that I like about Shidai is a point that I’m apt to make friends.
I came this university half a year ago, and I have to come all the way from my hometown, so I felt uneasy. But I could intimate the various people, such as a professor of seminar, all kinds of local students and so on.
Such a university has a point what I wish; it is an important of equipment.
I think the equipments of Shidai are too old.
For example, TOILET. I think it is a joke. Why some washroom don’t exist the faucet?
After all, the budget of Shidai is used for the place what we can’t understand.
First of all, I want to say at least the dirty washroom should be improved rather than established “the public management departure”
President of Shidai should hear the student’s opinion.

Hi, I’m Takaaki, I think your thought is good and I sympathize it. But, at the same time, it’s a little extreme. I hope Shidai will be ameliorate in the next couple years.
返信削除One thing I go for about Shidai is not so large. This is very important for me. If Shidai were very large, I would have trouble moving around, it would be hard for me to find classroom, and I would be tired of walking and seeking. So it is good for me shidai not to be huge place.
Moreover, first thing I desire about Shidai is improving capacity of cafeteria. I feel between a chair and a chair is too narrow at Shidai cafeteria. It’s difficult for me to eat something and to pass between two chairs, so I likely to hit people or things. I always think I wish this cafeteria was bigger!

返信削除One thing that I like about Shidai is that I can study language. Shidai has only faculty of economy. But, we can study not only economics but also language. It is good that there are English classes two times a week although it is faculty of economy.
Also, it is easy for me to make friends as Shidai is petty.
What I dislike Shidai is that there is only a Seikyo shop in Shidai. Universities where my friends go have McDonald, bakery, many convenient stores in their universities.
I think that Shidai should make shop such as it. If Shidai change like universities of my friends, it is very convenient!
Another thing is that toilet is dirty. Because Shidai is rich, I always think that should be redecorated.

返信削除I agree with your opinion about rest room, Chisato. Some doors are broken and some water pipes are leaking. If it isn’t able to be redecorated rest room, repairing is necessary.
First, we can have a chance to take classes lectured by teacher of technical college for preparation of officer’s examinations. Moreover, classes are low-priced compare with taking classes in technical college. Most of students in Shidai are live according to scholarship. So, I think that we can take low-priced classes that preparation of officer’s examinations is a good thing about Shidai.
Next, I hate parts of requiring classes. I wish that we’re able to take classes more freely to choose by our really interests.

I want to take the class which I'm interested in, too.
I think Shidai is nice, because university students can have a good opportunity for international exchange. There are many overseas students and a club for international exchange at Shidai. Students can contact with a different culture through overseas students without going abroad. Actually, two friends of mine are Chinese, I sometimes learn Chinese language from them.
The things I don't like about Shidai are outside smorking areas.
Shidai's smoking areas aren't completely divided into smoking areas and nonsmoking areas. Whenever I pass the front of smoking areas at Shidai, I feel choking. It is true that smoking is harmful no only to smokers but also to people around them. So, I wish smoking were banned in all buildings.

Shidai's international exchange system is good.
The Shidai's best side which I think is international exchange system.
There are many overseas students in Shidai.
I think talking with foreign people is good for peoples who are studying foreign language.
I want to talk with them as possible as I can.

Shidai's bad side is that it has only one deparyment.

First, I like about Shidai is a point that the scale of a university is small. Because it is possible to make friends with a lot of people. For example, a classmate, a senior, a foreign student, a teacher, the student of the other university, and so on. It may have plenty of contacts. And then, a view of the world may change. Even more, a vision will be widened. It is very important. So it maybe help us out of difficulty in the future.
Next , I dislike about Shidai is a point that there is a small number of restaurant. I want to have a happy time with my friends. But it is a pretty long way from Shidai to restaurant. I think convenient that restaurant is near the university. So I look forward to open a restaurant near the university.

Eight months have passed since I became a Shimonoseki City University student. I found good points and bad points of this university.
One of good points is that it is possible for us to learn a lot of fields of studies. All the students of this university are major in economics. However, many professors who are major in other fields of studies are in this university. Consequently, we can learn many fields and get a variety of knowledge and interests.
On the other hand, Shimonoseki City University also has many bad points. One of them is that facilities do not consider students. I am dissatisfied with a cafeteria in particular. The capacity of it is too small to accommodate many students. I get irritated because it is crowded with many students every lunch time. I want university to make additional seats.
I hope our campus lives will be better!!

返信削除What I like about Shidai is that there are people from various areas; from Hokkaido in the north to Kyushu in the south. I like listening to someone’s speaking using the local dialects. It is also interesting for me to learn many cultures differ from my local ones.
On the other hand, I want Shidai to establish clean-up-day. Some people throw away or leave their trash in school. In fact, we ourselves should clean our school. Bother things such as picking up trash and cleaning up schoolrooms are very important activities for us. Ultimately, I wish Shidai were beautiful everyday without cleaning.

I think that Shidai is out of the ordinary. That’s because department is only one. Such as
the university is not much in Japan, but I think that it may be appeal things.
Generally speaking, to our regret , Shidai is not famous for Japan.
However, I think that Shidai is very good the university. For example, there are a lot of international students of the Chinese and Korean, American. It is very good chance for us to communicate with them. If we talk with them , we can learn their cultures and hear their candid opinions. So, we can get along with them. As you can see, it is not only international students but also us very nice experience. On the contrary, I want to go abroad their university.

I don’t smoke the cigarette. I wish smoking were banned in Shidai.

返信削除Shidai’s cafeteria is behind to other university cafeteria. So, the place doing shopping is small. Therefore I want to put a famous shop in the Shimonoseki University. For example, McDonald, LOTTERIA, LAWSON, SEVENEREVEN, and so on. Good vigor will come along in the university if I improve this.
The favorite point of Shimonoseki University, a school festival is enjoying. Many famous people come for a school festival. For example, ogiyahagi, ayaka, wagaya, kusuo and so on. This school festival not only Shimonoseki University students but also, it is the event that the local people look forward to. I like about simonoseki university's library.

One thing that I like about Shidai is gym. Shidai's gym and locker room is new and beautiful. So physical education in there feels me good.
And,making friends easily is another thing that I like about Shidai. Before entering university,I thought that making friends is very hard. But students in Shidai are very friendly, so I can acquaint with many students even international students.Compared with other university, Shidai's student is few.So I may possible acquaint with all students.
The other hand, I wish Shidai has more shop than now. Now,only one shop. If Shidai has more shop, we can spend conviniently.

This university's good point is the premises.
The premises is not so large.When I was a high school student,
I thought that a large university looks so attractive.But,I'm convinced that a small university is more better than a large university!
For example,don't get lost,can arrive at destination as soon as possible,and so on.
This university's bad point is a students' dining hall.
I think that there is too small! I think that it is too narrow between a chair and a chair at a student's dining hall.And various menu that are prepared by the university is a few.

school cafe must be remodel.
Shimonoseki university is a small university, that is good point or bad point.
Students can easily become acquainted with many students and talk to because the number of students is not large. We can meet friends at school café and lecture hall without some promise.
However, at lunch time, we sometimes don’t use school café because there are no available seats, and are ejected from there as soon as we finish eating lunch.
I don’t feel I go to university because campus is too small, but I also think that is convinced for having daily campus life.

返信削除I found two good points of Shimonoseki city university. The first point I found is that university has a good system to support student’s job hunting. The number of students of students of Shimonoseki city university is smaller than other university, so they have more chances to consult professors for advice about job hunting.
The second point I found is that a gymnasium is very beautiful. It is possible for students to play sports comfortably there. In addition, students are allowed to make use of the gymnasium freely, so they can kill their free times by taking exercise. However, I also found a bad point of Shimonoseki city university. It is a cafeteria. A variety of dishes are very small. If students, use the cafeteria every day, they must be sick of the same pattern of dishes. Therefore the cafeteria should have more variety of dishes. I hope Shimonoseki city university to be improved.

I wish that the limit of unit was abolished.There are no limit in a national university.To limit of unit that we can take in one semester may limit our possibilities in spare time.

返信削除Because a favorite point of Shidai is a small university, I am up to steady of the support. Being possible to correspond kindly when the career center was visited by job hunting was very good impression. Moreover, it is also good impression to mediate finding employment.
The point where it wants Shidai for you to change it oppositely is not to be able to acquire the unit that width to be a little and to be acquired to the selection of the unit freely. It is thought that it is necessary to abolish it because the limitation up to 25 units is thought that uselessness increases at time.
