Hi everyone and welcome to English Composition B. My name is Kristen Sullivan and I will be your teacher for this semester I hope you enjoy the class and that it is useful for your English study.
In order to become a good writer, it's important to get a lot of practice. So in this class, in addition to the essay assignments, we will also occasionally have “blog writing” homework activities. I think this will be a good chance to not only practice English writing, but also to get to know your classmates a bit better, so I hope you enjoy this activity.
So, for our first blog writing activity I want you to tell us about your summer holiday. Did you have a good summer holiday, a boring summer holiday, a bad summer holiday? What did you do? Please write about 150, and don't forget to briefly introduce yourself too. Don't forget to write your name - otherwise I cannot give you your blog writing points!!!
I'll start...
My name is Kristen Sullivan, but please call me Kris. I have been teaching at Shimonoseki City University for 4.5 years. I'm originally from Brisbane, in Australia. This summer I took 32 students to Brisbane for 外国研修. Do you know about 外国研修? This is a subject (2 credit points) at Shidai, where you can study a language overseas during the summer vacation. There are three languages available: English, Chinese and Korean. My students studied at ICTE (http://www.icte.uq.edu.au/) in the University of Queensland (http://www.uq.edu.au/) for 4 weeks. They studied English, met students from the University of Queensland, did some sightseeing, and stayed with homestay families. I enjoyed taking these students to Australia, because it was a good chance for me to introduce them to my home country. Also, I got to see my own family, which was a nice bonus. If you are interested in studying languages, or experiencing another culture, please consider participating in 外国研修 next year!!!
So, anyway, that was my summer. Now, please tell us about your summer holiday!!

返信削除I spent this summer vacation in my hometown and experienced new things. For example,how to drive cars and working in the field. I tried to get license in this summer vacation. I commuted a driving school every day from my house. But I did not get license until university starts. I worked in my field to help my grandparents. It was very tired and full. I enjoyed summer vacation.
I like watching baseball game on TV. My favorite team is Dragons. I have played tennis since I was junior high school student. But I belong to table tennis club. I am interested in Taiga drama,sengoku general,variety program,music program and movies. My favorite group is Orange Range. I will enjoy campus life in shidai.

返信削除I spent this summer vacation in my hometown and went to Qingdao in China. I saw my friends in high school days after a long separation. And we talked about campus life,part-time job and so on. In addition, I played basketball with my friends. The best memory of this summer vacation is to go to Qingdao in China. It was my first trip out of the country. We went sightseeing mainly. We also got training. And we met students from the University of Qingdao. I made friends with them. It was a very fruitful for me to go to Qingdao. And I was thoroughly enjoying my first stay overseas. I want to go to abroad again. I wish to enjoy and make good use of my campus life.

I’m Ayano Hashiguchi. I am a member of the karate club in this university. I love music and sometimes practice the guitar. I’m from Ibusuki city in Kagoshima. Ibusuki came to be famous for Atsuhime. I spent most of my vacation there. You had a good time during your vacation, didn’t you? I think that to make friends with foreign people is very nice! I’ve never been to China, so I want to visit there someday. As for my vacation, it was happy too. I returned my hometown, and played with my friends almost everyday. For example, we enjoyed playing tennis, singing at the karaoke, and going driving. On the other hand, when I didn’t have anything to do, I helped my father’s job. He had just started selling foliage plants on the internet. The job was very interesting for me. Anyway, I mean that this summer was the best I have ever experienced. Thank you for reading.

This my summer vacation is very fun!! I went back to myhometown,Hasama in Oita.Hasama has a lot of nature and the air is very beautiful.I talked about university life with my friend.
And I went to my grandparent's house with my family.They live in Yufuin in Oita.Yufuin is beautiful and hot spring is very famous.
Most of my friends got driver licence, but I didn't. So I will go to driving school this winter vacation.And next summer vacation,I want to go abroad!So I try to study English hard!!

返信削除I’m Yasuhiro Hamano. I’m a member of the baseball club in this university. I tried a club hard every day. I went to Okayama to play baseball game in a summer vacation. we were able to win in the league match. I was very happy.
I went to shopping in Tokyo. I bought clothes. Now, that clothes is my favorite. After that, I went Tokyo Disneyland. I played with Mickey mouse and Donald duck. I was very happy. I rode many attractions. I was very excited. The following day, I went to Asakusa. I went through Kaminari gate. There were so many people. I ate Ninngyou yaki which is very famous in Japan. I thought that I like my home town better than Tokyo.

How of summer vacation to spend me yearned for chiefly two things. First of all, one eye passed to the car school to go to get the license of the car. If getting the license of the car had to receive neither skill nor the subject, it felt heavy. It gets tired on the way if it is necessary to get on many times though it is very happy that the skill takes the car. The subject becomes sleepy because it almost sees only DVD in class. The license has not been gotten yet and I want to work hard as it is possible to take it early. The second is a byte. About the fifth a week was a byte. Really very because there was almost a byte every day. Moreover, having helped to last and always returning to the house turned by two o'clock.
Being possible to play mah-jong with other friends was happy. This is summer vacation that I spent.

My summer vacation was very busy and very fun :)
I went back to my hometown, Hiroshima for a long time. I commuted to car school every day. It was very busy and difficult! Driving car was more difficult and frighten than imagination! I could get car license without incident!!
But, I have a problem. It is license’s photo. If I can retake photo, I want to!
After I got the license, I played my friends in my hometown everyday ;)
For example, drive by my friend’s car, do a karaoke until AM 7:00 of the morning all the time, go to my high school and meet teachers, go to eat grilled meat with my friends, etc…
This summer was very happy! Also I noticed that the friend and my family who is in the remote place distantly are very precious!

But I went to the driving school and I climbed a rural mountain and I stayed my new friend's house.
Their memories are fabulous beyond description!
I do not get a car license.
Because a few days when finished the University's exam, I thought that I need a few holidays.
But it was a big mistake…
I have just spent for a few weeks.
Sooner or later, I think that I will get a car license in the future.
About the mountain climbing, I do not understand the reason why I thought I want to climb a mountain alone.
Yet it was a good memory.

返信削除I spent this summer vacation in my hometown, Osaka. The temperature of Osaka was very high because of Heat island.
I went to Hanshin Koshien stadium with my local friend on August 28. I watched the game between Hanshin Tigers and Yomiuri Giants. I had not watched same match since I was nine years old. There were no vacant seats at Koshien because this match is called “the traditional match” Koshien was filled with enthusiasms of fans. I was surprised at them. This game was very exciting. In the top of the fourth inning of the game, the Giants scored the first one run, but Kano, catcher of the Tigers hit three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning. Then the Tigers won the game 5-1. I was very happy. After the game, we sang “Rokko-oroshi” I had a nice day.

At first, I do not like driving, because I could not drive well.

返信削除I am a member of the tennis club in this university. I went to Hiroshima and kagawa in a match of the tennis in this summer vacation. I had lost for a match as for me, though it was had a very good experience. I ate a lot of delicious food in Hiroshima and Tokushima.
At first, in Hiroshima, I ate famous okonomiyaki. Then I ate big parfait.
It is very big than all of you imagine. In kagawa I ate bukkake udon.
Again, I ate a lot this summer vacation. As a result, the weight of me increased 3 kg.
My hometown is Shimonoseki. A lot of friends returned to the hometown.
Therefore I played and went to shopping in fukuoka with the friend.

返信削除I went back to my hometown almost all in August. My hometown is Kumamoto City. Kumamoto is famous for Kumamoto castle built by Kiyomasa Kato 400 years ago. I enjoyed there with my family and old friends. And I spent watching movies on DVD with my brother in our free time. Of all those movies, I like “The Devil Wears Prada”,”Sex and the City”. What is the good movie you saw recently? Please tell me about it!
I spent in Shimonoseki during September. I like watching sports, and I belong to the volleyball club in this university as the manager. Actually, I love watching basketball game too. One of my favorite comics is SLAM DUNK. I have read it more than four times. You should read it at least once.

I spend this August working part time at Maruwa. I worked 5 hours a day , so I tired.
Also, I often saw kris’s shopping at Maruwa. In September, I got back to my hometown for one week. I was very happy because I saw my friends in high school days after a long separation. I played with them everyday. For example, we did karaoke all night, took a drive in friend’s car, ate out, visit my teacher in my high school day, and talk each other until midnight. this week was really happy. 返信削除I spent summer vacation in my hometown.I like listening to music or reading books.So,I went to my favorite artist’s live with my friends.It was very happy for me to listen to her song directly. Her voice was beautiful. Her talk was good, too. We had a good time.
On early September, I went to my high school to watch sports festival. I met teachers and classmates after a long absence. We talked about various things. Moreover, I met club’s people I was belonged to. I was very glad because they looked like cheerfully.

I worked part-time and idle away at home. But occasionally, I go to a summer festival and fireworks.
And I go back my hometown from end of August to beginning of September.

I spent this summer vacation in my hometown.
my hometown is Hita in Oita.
There is a country town,and the streets are lined with neat rows of stores and houses.
By the way,this summer vacation was very busy for me!
Because I commuted to driving school every day to get a driver's license.
It was hard for me to get it,but My effort has been rewarded!I succeeded in getting it!
Also,I worked at Ohara shrine because my father is the chief priest of a Shinto shrine in there.
I cleaned the precincts of a shrine,and treated a worshipper to libation.
This is quite a new experience,and an unforgettable experience for me!

I spent this summer vacation in Okayama prefecture where is my hometown.
My hometown is not a city.It is very rural place.There are many rice fields.
There is no special thing in this summer.
But I played with my friends ferpuently.
I went shopping and fishing with my friends.
Sometimes I went to my friends` house to play a video game.
Now, there is one thing that I have regreted.
That is I could not go to the sea in this summer.I just looked the sea from the train`s window on my way to home.But I did not swim in the sea in this summer.What was I doing.

I barely got a temporary license.
But now,I don't feel like driving.
It's really stressful.

I had stayed in my hometown Kochi during this summer vacation.
I was glad to see my family and friends since I had entered college school.
I enjoyed visiting many sightseeing spots with my friends, Katsurahama beach, Ryugado, Sawada apartment house and so on.
I played with my friends everyday, so I was sad when I came back to Shimonoseki.
However, I thought that I would try various things while I am at school and I realized
that I liked Kochi very much. Kochi is surrounded with mountain and sea, so there
is filled with nature. I would like everyone to visit Kochi and tell me that, and I'll be willing to guide you!

返信削除I went to Kobe and Tenjin in summer vacation. I belong to yosakoi club “shindo10”,so I went there to dance.
We took the ship to Kobe. We spent 12 hour in the ship. Festival in Kobe was so great and there were a lot of other yosakoi team. We danced four times and watched other teams dance. We toured in Kobe and were shopping after the festival. We bought foods, clothes, or bag.
After a week , we visited Tenjin in Fukuoka. Festival in Tenjin was also so great. We cloud dance one more time after we danced four times. Because our seniors have won a prize in last year. Felling over the festival ran so high.
I spent a nice summer vacation. I look forward to the next summer vacation.

Ｍｙ name is yuuki tomozawa.You are spending very good summer vacation. I wanted also to say to the prefecture in the city like Kobe. I want also to go if there is a chance.
返信削除I swam with the friend in the sea summer vacation. and, I fished. A lot of small fish were able to take it. I thought that I was glad. Other we went to see fireworks. 5000 fireworks were launched. It was frantically seen at a very large, beautiful, long time. It rings in one's heart still.
However, the best memories are circle travels. I belong to the venture circle.
To go sightseeing in Hiroshima, it went on a trip. Ｉ ate okonomiyaki, and it went to see Genbaku Dome.okonomiyaki is very delicious. I went to the amusement park.
The roller coaster was very scared. It endured many times and it got on. I thought that I died. I may not get on for a while any longer.
Summer vacation of this year was really happy and had been enhanced.
I want to enjoy taking a rest next summer.

返信削除I hardly swim in the sea because I am not good at swimming.I envy you.But,I like fishing very much.I will go fishing soon.
I began new part-time job this summer.It is delivery.I did not worry about driving because I have driving license and I usually drive a car.But loosing my way often upset me badly.I deliveried local area.But,there were many place that I do not know yet.
And I must be polite to customer without complaint.The customer is always right.
I could learn getting money is very hard.
Owner and coworker were very friendly and kindly.So,I could work fine and pleasantly.
My summer vacation of this year is very full.

返信削除My summer vacation was very busy. Because I was looking for a job. It is said that this year's finding employment is very severe. There was pressure that had to get the informal decision because the place of employment managed not to have been found by me yet. About 15 visited the enterprise and I was able finally to get the informal decision.
